Four words that mean so much

Ellenbrook JFC Starkick were proud to host the team from Telethon to spend time with families, players and volunteers listening, learning and capturing the real stories that make our Starkick community what it is.

Among all the moments shared, four simple words from young Kennedy became the heartbeat of this year’s Telethon feature - “This is my club.”

Spoken softly, but with complete certainty, Kennedy’s words carried the full weight of what Starkick delivers every day in community football.

A sense of connection.
A place of community.
And above all, a deep and powerful belonging.

For Kennedy, and for thousands of children across WA who may need that little bit of extra support, time or space Starkick isn’t just a program - it’s a community.  A place where teammates become friends, clubs become extended family, and football becomes the bridge that brings people together.

And Dan… we agree with the kids - you are the man! Your confidence, your joy and your passion on and off the field are everything Starkick stands for.

This story, reinforces and remind us why we do what we do. Football is the vehicle but belonging and connection to community – that is the destination.

Because when a child looks at their jumper, their teammates, their club… and proudly says those four simple words : “This is my club.” We know we’re on the right path.
