Eagles out in force to support Starkick
Around 450 kids from nine Education support schools from across Perth were treated to a visit from their favourite West Coast Eagles stars who dropped by in support of the Starkick All-Abilities program.
Eagles stars including Harley Reid, Jake Waterman, Tim Kelly and co-captain Oscar Allen who’s also an AFL appointed disability and Inclusion ambassador were among those hosting clinics at school across Perth and the Peel region of WA.
Education support students from Holy Rosary Primary School, Leeming SHS ESC, Sir David Brand School, Rockingham SHS ESC, Cannington Community ESC , Leda ESC , Gladys Newton School, Kalamunda Primary ESC and Merriwa education support centre enjoyed a fun session with West Coast players followed by photos and autographs after.

The players were a massive hit with the kids, with teachers and support staff praising them on their engagement and attitude.
“All the players were fantastic with our kids, they interacted with us in a very positive manner and the students loved it,” Cannington Community Education Support Centre physical education teacher Colin Pestell said.
“The activities suited our kids ability levels and they readily adjusted the activities on the fly, to better cater for our students.”
“The players were very engaging, and it was fantastic to see how they interacted with the students,” Leda Education Support Centre principal Kelly-Anne Barker added.
“They were happy to be involved with all the students, were encouraging and interactive. They treated each student with respect and it was evident that they took interest in the students, even learning their names quickly.”
Starkick is a multi award-winning all-abilities football program supporting children of 5-17 years of age.
With modified rules and activities, geared to each child’s individual needs, Starkick seeks to support all disabilities and runs with a simple mantra “If you want to play, we’ll find a way”.
