Starkick Gala Day a big hit
Players from Starkick centres across Perth and as far as Bunbury came together at the home of the Fremantle Dockers for the annual "Hand in Hand" Gala Day.
Event MC Mitchell Wood from South Bunbury JFC Starkick centre warmly welcomed all particpants to what was a great day of footy, fun and friendship
With over 100 players participatating, the event provides opportunity for players to represent their club in a series of round robin games, against other Starkick centres.
Prior to the games there was some fierce competition in the Mascot Race which has become a much loved part of the annual event. Despite a strong "pre-season" in the lead up from many of the club mascots, Johhny Docker, for the second straight year, took out line honours.
Quinns Districts Starkick Coach and WA Disability and Inclusion Volunteer of the year winner, Mark Clayton said "It's a great day and the most rewarding thing is seeing the smiles on the kids faces"
Ali, who plays Starkick at the Kingsway JFC went on to say "Starkick makes me feel happy, I like sharing the ball with everyone and have fun"
The Starkick Hand in Hand Gala day event is run in partnership with - WA All Abiblities Football Association, Fremanlte Football Club, The Purple Hands Foundation, SEDA Group and our community Starkick centres.
