On the 1st of December 2014 a proposal was put to the Committee of the Coolbinia Bombers Junior Football Club to launch a team or program supporting children with a disability to play junior football. 

The committee unanimously endorsed the proposal as was outlined in this document - Starkick - The initial concept (2014)

The Starkick logo was subsequently created which sought to link into the AFL's Auskick logo (the swoosh and Red football) and to also portray the message that every child was welcome to play.
